Our Island in the Sun
We are located on St. Croix, the largest of the United States Virgin Islands. Surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, St. Croix offers crystal-clear waters, year-round sunshine, a laid-back atmosphere, and vast undeveloped spaces ranging from rain forest to desert. Life is natural here, and far less touristy than the more well-known islands. St. Croix’s rich historical and cultural heritage is integrated into current innovations in cuisine, music, art and lifestyle.
The climate is ideal. The temperature averages 82 degrees year round, with only a slight variation between seasons. The almost-constant easterly trade winds keep the air fresh and also temper the heat and humidity. Our rains usually come in the form of brief showers, often followed by stunning rainbows. Outside of our two little towns, the darkness of the night makes for brilliantly starry skies.
St. Croix has deeply ingrained West Indian sensibilities; yet it is part of the United States and therefore uses American banking, postal, electrical and telephone services. Thanks to our unique history, however, we drive on the left!
Travel to St. Croix is easy – several daily nonstop serve the United States, and US citizens don’t need a passport. For international travelers, connections can be made in San Juan, St. Thomas, or one of the US gateway cities.
