What's In the Way

I recently rewatched a video called “What’s In the Way” from an early Moment of Connection, and I want to share it with you. As you probably know, Moments of Connection are weekly gatherings full of love and laughter, challenge and celebration, solace and reflection. It’s a sacred time for our hearts. Even people who come for the first time tell me they feel loved and accepted almost immediately. And they are - because that’s why we gather, to connect with ourselves and each other in the deeper reality of who we are, beneath the façades and roles that we occupy in so much of our time. Whether we call it our true self, our heart, soul, spirit, or any other name, that’s who comes for a Moment of Connection.

During each Moment, I muse on the wisdom of some of my favorite sages, burnished with beautiful photographs and music. This video is one of those musings. The original sage whose thinking inspired this this video is probably Marcus Aurelius, who said “What stands in the way is the way.” But over the centuries that sentiment has been spoken and written using so many different words that it’s now used more as a ubiquitous concept than as a quotation. The way I say it is to pose a question: What if what’s in the way IS the way? And that’s what’s explored in this video.

It’s about 10 minutes long, and I hope you’ll give yourself that time to relax with it and let your heart and mind be gently open. Click on the image below, and enjoy. And do let me know how it goes for you.
